YOU CAN DO THIS (SOCKS)

I am so happy we are able to bring out another amazing project so soon after the "love" ring.

We released the "we believe in you" socks during the middle of the lock down. it just felt like everyone really needed some extra encouragement. Seeing as we were all locked down and not really needing to put on shoes so socks seems to be an obvious place to put a message.

The "WBIY" socks were so well received and sold out so fast that we had to produce another pair of socks.

We hope everybody loves these just as much. and there bring a little more love into the spirit of everybody who wears them

ROAR TIGER PAINTING

I made a version of this painting at the very beginning of lockdown, I liked the concept but I wasn't really happy with the composition as I think it lacked impact. So as an exercise to get back into the flow of my painting practice I have taken a second swing at it.

I'm more content with the way this has turned out.

Water colour, acrylic ink and gold leaf on 300grm watercolour paper.

 

SKETCHES TO OBJECTS (the love ring)

 At the beginning of 2021, we were informed were would be going into are third official national lockdown. Like everybody these lockdowns have been getting tougher and tougher but I wanted to take advantage of the extra time. I have wanted to make some jewellery for a long time, so with the help of our long time friend Zaza De La Hay of Four Ones jewellery the love ring was created.

The love ring is very different from anything we have been done before, but in the spirit of Someone in London Loves You we try to push forward with every piece we make. Needless to say we are very proud of it.

We picked Four Ones to work with us on this latest offering as she specialises in tokens of love, protection and healing. Together we’ve created a recycled sterling silver LOVE ring with contrast pattern chain link band, designed made and hand finished in London.

ABSTRACT

 

SOMEONE IN LONDON X LONG TIME GONE

 

Its Jan 2021 and we are still in lockdown. It's easy to give in to how depressing everything seems right now, however I'll always try to find a positive in the darkest of situation. One positive in all this is having the time to document past projects I may not have had time to in the past.

Last year I was super excited and honoured to make a collaboration with Kellye Sue Coffyn of Long Time Gone. I have been a long time admirer of her amazing chain stitch work, it was such a pleasure to make work with her and the she allowed even encouraged me to go wilder and brighter with the design. The outcome was better than I could have ever hoped for.

I love working on projects like this, working with such talented artists and crafts people really helps open my eyes to what is artistically possible. It makes me want to push myself that little bit harder to help me keep up.
